Crap-ton-a Gradient Maps 🌈
🌈 A collection of Gradient Maps that I've made over the years.
There's one for almost any purpose: skin tones, metals, iridescence, fur, dirt, stone, you name it!
I hope this helps you speed up your coloring process 🖤
👉 HOW DOES THIS HELP MY ART PROCESS?
- Efficient Color Experimentation: Gradient maps allow you to quickly experiment with different color schemes without altering the underlying value structure.
- Simplified Workflow: Gradient maps streamline the transition from grayscale to color, allowing you to focus on perfecting the values first without worrying about color.
- Flexible Adjustments: Gradient maps are non-destructive, meaning you can easily tweak or completely change the colors at any point in the process.
👉 WHY DOES IT LOOK FUNNY WHEN APPLIED TO MY WORK?
- Underlying Values: Gradient maps apply a predefined range of colors to the grayscale values in your artwork. If the underlying values aren't painted correctly, utilizing a wide value range and incremental transitioning, the gradient maps won't apply as intended.
- Color to Value Matching: Adjusting the nodules (little triangle guys) on a gradient map to correspond with the values of the underlying painting is crucial because it ensures that the colors applied through the gradient map accurately reflect the light and shadow areas in your artwork.
👉 HOW DO I INSTALL?
I've attached a video file titled "HowToInstall.mp4" that will guide you through the process. Enjoy!
